You heard it right. I'm COVID free and grateful as can be.
When everyone else left Vegas, I sat front seat on the crazy train with my best friend Ian - who I talked about in my last blog. He came to surprise me during the #Getaway trip for my birthday. Remember? You can read it right here to jog that beautiful memory.
The morning I was supposed to leave (when everyone else did), I woke up super late to an empty hotel room. Ian woke me up with coffee and lots of shit talking to get me out of bed. My favorites. All of my other friends had checked out and began to head home.
The flight I was supposed to catch was long gone, and I had about 10 minutes to throw all of my stuff in a suitcase and get the hell out of that room...so we wouldn't get charged for another day!
After sitting in a dark comfy booth at Javier's restaurant for a couple of hours, having a little hair of the dog and contemplating our lives through the haze of the world's worst hangover, Ian and I decided we did not have the energy to adult yet. So what do we do? We snagged a suite for another 2 nights at NOBU in Caesar's Palace.
We even had one of our OTHER best friends, Mark, fly into Vegas from LA and spend the last day there with us.
Talk about a bender!! 🤦♀️
We went to the pool and it was FREEZING cold. Honestly, that may have had something to do with the MEAN sore throat, congestion and loss of voice that I came home with. But! We had a great time continuing to celebrate my birthday.
In other words, it was definitely worth it!
Coming back home I quickly developed the above mentioned symptoms and decided that I should get tested for COVID just to be safe. Sadly, this meant missing my post-Vegas confessional.
I, nor production, wanted to run the risk of getting anybody else sick though. Turns out, NORMAL sick still exists and I ended up feeling better after about a week of staying home. My results finally came back negative, which is great news, but I do feel like I lost a week of my life during that isolation! Oh well......VEGAS! Am I right?
I think a week of recovery is pretty standard when coming home from that city!
Since we've been back I've been working around the clock!
Trying to train my clients, via facetime of course, stay on my own workout program, make my sales with the Ethanol company, and develop my app with my business partner and team...I haven't had much time to myself.
But it has felt GREAT to stay so busy! I really feel the most confident when I am on my grind.
I'm not sure yet if I'll realistically be able to make it to the Halloween party at Marlene's, considering how far away it is, but I am hoping to make it work. I want to see the #Getaway crew again.
With work, workouts, and entrepreneurship, time FLIES past me before I even realize it's gone. Sometimes I open our group chat and see 87 missed messages. I get so overwhelmed, I don't even know how to catch up! 😅🤣
"I can have my cake and eat it too, I just gotta make a reservation." 🎶
These next few months it will be crucial that I use my planner to schedule every waking moment, even down to when I plan to eat my meals! But this weekend is Halloween, so maybe I'll relax and enjoy it before hitting the ground running again.
After all, this has always been my favorite holiday! 😈
Talk to you again, right here, next week. Who knows if we'll be talking Marlene's Halloween extravaganza, or just my own.
