Reality TV thrives on drama, but according to Bring It! star and majorette dance icon Dianna Williams, not everything viewers saw was as messy as it looked on screen.
In a recent Facebook post, Dianna shut down years of fan speculation by revealing that Selena Johnson, Sunjai's mom, was actually the most unproblematic mom during her time on Bring It!, despite how things may have appeared on TV.
“Dear BRING IT fans,” Dianna wrote. “The reality is Selena Johnson was the most UNPROBLEMATIC! TV is crazy huh!? NEVER a problem! #facts”
The revelation comes as a surprise to many longtime fans of the Lifetime series, where tensions between dance moms often fueled storylines and unforgettable moments. Dianna’s comment serves as a reminder of just how much reality TV can amplify (or completely reshape) real-life dynamics for entertainment value.
As the conversation continued in the comments, one fan joked, “She just couldn’t stay outta rehearsals if Sonja life depended on it.” Dianna quickly shut that narrative down, responding directly to the fan and setting the record straight once again. “They sent her in there,” Dianna clarified. “Selena never has ever interrupted me.”
The Dancing Dolls founder also shared a photo with Selena, shown below, in her comments.

Selena, who was frequently at the center of on-screen disagreements, is now being vindicated by the very person who ran the studio and lived the experience firsthand. According to Dianna, behind the scenes, Selena caused no issues at all. Which now makes sense to fans considering the pair reconnected, along with Mimi Harris and Tina Jones. for the 3-part Reunion Special titled Dianna on Brandon TV (BTV) in 2024.

Selena Johnson may not be done with reality TV, either. BTV has teased that she may be a part of Season 2 of Encore along with her daughter Sunjai. Be sure to catch up on all things DD4L on Brandon TV, and stay tuned for more news related to the former Bring It! cast.
