Kayla and Tina Jones' Emotional Clash Steals the Show in Encore Reunion Part 3

Part 3 of the Encore Reunion on Brandon TV brought the drama, the tears, and a few long-overdue heart-to-hearts. The cast revisited some of the most contentious moments from the season, and one of the most emotional came from Kayla and her mom, Tina.
Producers rolled a clip where Kayla talked about being the breadwinner in her household while her husband, Mo, was out of work recovering from surgery. She opened up about how grateful she is for Mo’s support, especially with her busy schedule teaching dance classes, filming Encore, and balancing motherhood. But what sparked a more intense reaction came next.
In the same clips, Kayla said she sometimes worries about being away from home too much, explaining she wants to be “different” than her mom. Watching it back, Tina became visibly emotional, saying that hearing that over and over felt painful. She reminded Kayla (and viewers) that she was a teen mother doing her best to provide, often working long hours while Kayla stayed with her grandmother, Mimi (no, not Mimi Harris).
From Tina’s perspective, Kayla didn’t always see the sacrifices she made to give her a better life. From Kayla’s point of view, those absences shaped how she approaches parenting today. And when Kayla added that she was proud not to have become a teen mom, Tina took that as another sting, explaining that she worked hard to keep Kayla focused, busy with the Dancing Dolls, and on the right path. So instead of patting herself on the back, she should acknowledge what her mother did for her to assist in that.
Unfortunately, Kayla wasn't super receptive to what Tina was saying, despite admitting she understands why she felt how she felt. Kayla revealed that she would not change her words, even after hearing Tina's emotional plea for her to better understand.
It was a raw, layered exchange — the kind that reminds fans that Encore isn’t just about the spotlight; it’s about real families and real emotions. Despite the tense moment, both women made it clear they’re in a much better place today. But reliving those words on-screen hit hard, even for a strong mother-daughter duo like them.
