Former Dance Moms coach and current star of Mad House Abby Lee Miller is finally breaking her silence after Nia Sioux’s new memoir, Bottom of the Pyramid, accuses her of racism during Nia’s childhood years on the show.

Nia, who joined the series back in 2011 when she was just 10 years old, writes that Abby once asked her, “Don’t you just wish you had white-girl hair?” She also recalls having a solo titled “Nattie of the Jungle,” reportedly themed around a child raised by monkeys.

But Abby is pushing back, telling TMZ she remembers things very differently:

“I have different memories compared to what the girls have. I remember doing a lot of good for them.”

According to Abby, the dancers were not under contract and were never obligated to stay at the ALDC. As for legal action? She says she doesn’t plan to sue, calling it Nia’s freedom of speech and choosing to focus on her own future instead of the controversy.

“It is what it is,” she adds, noting she’s grateful to still be here after her cancer battle.

Right now, that future includes a whole new chapter on reality TV. Abby is back in front of the cameras, starring in Mad House on Brandon TV, where she’s already stirring up fresh drama with a brand-new cast of young talent.

Meanwhile, Nia’s memoir Bottom of the Pyramid is officially on shelves and fans are sounding off about the long-standing tension between the dance icon and her former protégé. The book also recently hit the New York Times Best Sellers list.
