Things are heating up in the pop music world—and not in a good way.

Ricky Rebel, the glam-pop singer known for his unapologetically bold style and equally bold bops, is calling out Frankie Grande for allegedly copying his track "Boys & Sometimes Girls." The controversy started when Frankie released his new single "Boys," which prominently features a repetitive “boys boys boys boys” chant in its hook—something Ricky claims sounds a little too familiar.

In a not-so-subtle Instagram Story, Ricky posted a clip from Frankie’s new music video with the caption, “I feel like I’ve heard this before.” Moments later, he followed it up with a clip of his own music video for "Boys & Sometimes Girls," highlighting the nearly identical rhythmic chant. And just in case the message wasn’t loud and clear, Ricky doubled down by posting yet another story—this time featuring FEMBOYS by drag superstar Trinity the Tuck, which also uses a similar “boys boys boys boys” refrain.

“Imitation is the greatest form of flattery,” Ricky wrote, “This person stole my song as well.”

While Ricky didn’t tag Frankie directly, fans quickly connected the dots. The similarities between the tracks are definitely noticeable, especially in the chant-heavy, club-ready chorus that seems to be becoming a trend in queer dance-pop.

Frankie Grande has yet to respond publicly to the accusations, but Ricky’s posts have sparked a firestorm of debate online. Some fans are backing Ricky and demanding credit be given where it's due, while others say the “boys boys boys” chant is a pop trope that’s been used by artists like Lady Gaga and Sabrina Salerno long before any of the current players entered the scene.

So, is it a case of creative inspiration, or something more shady? We’ll have to see how this unfolds, but one thing’s for sure—Ricky Rebel isn’t staying silent.

Stay tuned for more updates on this developing diva drama.
